What is Zakat?
Zakat is the third pillar of Islam. It is a mandatory charitable contribution, considered a tax or alms, that every sane, adult Muslim must pay if their wealth exceeds a specific minimum amount known as the Nisab.
The word "Zakat" itself translates to "purification" and "growth." By giving a small portion of your wealth to those in need, you purify the wealth you keep and invite barakah (blessings) into your finances.

- Has held that wealth for one lunar year (Hawl)
